Columbiana – Dorothy L. Zohnd, 85, of Columbiana, died at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Boardman Health Center.
Mrs. Zohnd was born April 18, 1927 in New Middletown, a daughter of the late Orville and Floy Young Burkey and had lived in this area all her life.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk for Well’s Drug Store in Columbiana for 27 years. She later worked at Health Matters in Columbiana. Dorothy was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana.
She is survived by her husband, George H. Zohnd, whom she married February 2, 1946; two daughters, Sherry A. Shaffer of Columbiana and Pamela S. (Tom) King of New Waterford; a son, Jeff A. (Debbie) Zohnd of Columbiana; a sister, Anna Mae Sheets of Poland; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son and a grandson, Aaron Zohnd.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Sean Myers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery, New Middletown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the services on Monday.
Memorial may be made to the church memorial fund.
