Columbiana- Vivian Emily Reemer, age 103, of Columbiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Windsor House of Canfield.
She was born on December 18, 1914 in Newport, KY., the daughter of the late Charles and Estella Wenderoth Reemer.
After the death of her father, Vivian moved to Columbiana with her mother at the age of 3 to be with her grandparents, George and Caroline Wenderoth. She graduated from Columbiana High School as Valedictorian of her class and attended Salem Business College. She was employed at the Columbiana Boiler Company as the office manager for 47 years and was a member of the Columbiana-Fairfield Historical Society. Vivian was an avid traveler and sports fan, particularly of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the NY Yankees, the Cleveland Cavalier and the Cleveland Browns. She was a member of Grace Church in Columbiana and served in many capacities. She especially enjoyed teaching the Golden Link S.S. class of teenagers and producing the Christmas “Singspiration” as their gift to the community. Vivian was instrumental in starting the church news letter and naming it “Grace Notes”. She also served as chairwoman of the church’s Sesquicentennial celebration when they had eight consecutive days of special activities.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and dear friend, DeErla Smith. She is survived by a cousin, Carolyn Jo David of Sanibel, FL.
Friends will be received on Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church, Columbiana.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church with Rev. Dr. Robert C. Joy officiating.
Burial will be at the Columbiana Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
