THOMAS ANTHONY TROY SALEM-Thomas Anthony Troy, 68 left this world at 11:38 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Youngstown.

Thom was born in Salem, Ohio on June 13, 1946 to Helen and Tony Troy. He was raised in Leetonia, OH and was a 1964 graduate of Leetonia High School. After many years working abroad and traveling, he moved from Davie, FL back to Salem in 2007.

After attending Hiram College, L'Universite d'Aix-Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence, France, John Carroll University and Youngstown State University, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin in 1973 from Kent State University.

He worked at several local banks before embarking on his international banking journey that took him from New York, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles, to Manila, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Seoul, South Korea and Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Thom was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

Survivors include two sisters, Marsha (Bill) Swift of Leetonia and Barbara (Larry Kale) Bell of Washingtonville. Two nephews and one niece; Anthony Troy Kleon (Laura) and their children, Anthony and Arianna of Powell, OH; Nick Kleon of Washingtonville and Rachel Erin (Adam) McCleary of Beaver Falls, PA. Thom is also survived by many cousins who will miss him dearly and by his many friends.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for all of the cards, gifts, visits and prayers during his illness.

Thom requested there be no calling hours and his ashes will be scattered at a later date.

Contributions can be made in Thom's name to the American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311.

Arrangements were handled by Woods-Rettig Funeral Home in Leetonia, OH.
