Shirley Morris Obituary

Sebring - Shirley A. Morris, age 99, formerly of East Palestine, died on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Crandall Medical Center, Sebring.

Mrs. Morris was born on September 19, 1920 in New Castle, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel and Shirley Fraser Williams.  She attended Coal Ridge one- room school and graduated from Enon Valley High School in 1938.  She later graduated from the Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She later worked twelve years as a teller at the former Union Commercial & Savings Bank in East Palestine, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine.

Her husband, Lester D.  Morris, whom she married on June 30, 1938, preceded her in death on June 5, 1986.

Shirley is survived by her son, Dr. Terry L. Morris of Harrisonburg, VA; her daughter, Dr. Toni J. Morris of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Irwin L. Morris and Margaret Burns Parson; great grandchildren Madeline Morris and Cameron Morris.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Bessie Stewart, Eunice Boyles, and Agnes Herb, and four brothers, Paul Williams, Arthur Williams, Donald Williams, and Charles Williams.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, private family services are being held for Mrs. Morris with burial to be in Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine.  The family is planning a Memorial Service at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine.
