Robert M. Antram

Robert Maurice Antram, 88, died peacefully on March 28, 2017 in Columbiana, OH, not five miles from his home of more than 70 years.

He was born February 25, 1929 in Buffalo Prairie, IL, son of the late Lela May (Hartman) and Maurice Leroy Antram. Robert and his deceased wife, Rosa Lee (Harrold) Antram, were married on March 19, 1949, and reared two sons and a daughter on Stanton Ave., becoming fixtures in the Columbiana community. Robert retired from Franklin Furniture and was an active member of Grace Church on S. Main St. All who knew him would say easily that his greatest passion was fishing. He and Rose traveled the world exploring wild places and catching fish along the way; he was especially fond of Yellowstone National Park and Island 10 Fishing Retreat on Lady Evelyn Lake in Ontario Canada. For many years, Robert designed and built his own fishing rods. Robert is survived by two sons, Robert Lee (Shirley Scott) Antram of Warrenton, VA and Richard Kevin (Kerry) Antram of New Waterford, OH; twin brothers Dennis and Dale Antram, of Tampa, FL and Jacksonville, FL, respectively; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His daughter Linda Kay Smith of Salem, OH, and his sister, Lois M. Redden of Framingham, MA, passed before him in 2015, and his beloved wife Rosa died in 2012. A sign outside his home' s door read, "A fisherman lives here with the catch of his life."

A memorial service will be held on April 29th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Grace Church, Columbiana, with the Reverend Dr. Robert C. Joy officiating.

Private interment will be at Columbiana Cemetery.
