Lois Morris Obituary

Columbiana – Lois Jean Morris, 82, died Monday, May 4, 2020 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital following a year of ill-health.

Lois was born March 16, 1938 in South Beaver Township, PA, a daughter of the late Norman and Myrtle Elder and had lived in the Columbiana area for the past 40 years.  She retired from General Dynamics Corp-Darlington Brick Branch where she was office manager for over 40 years.  She was a member of the Mount Calvary Community Church, Unity, OH.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially the love of her life, Donald Morris whom she married October 17, 1970.  Lois and Don spent their retirement years traveling over the United States (including Alaska) and wintering in Florida in their beautiful motor home making wonderful friends wherever they went.

Lois is also survived by her sister, LaVon Fawcett and her brother, Larry (Judy) Elder; a special stepson and his wife, Bruce (Marie) Morris and stepdaughter, Cindy Coffin of Newark, DE; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great granddaughters.  She was the “special Aunt Jeannie” to her nieces and nephews who always included her in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Elder, Jr.

A “Special Thanks” to the staff at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center for the wonderful compassionate care they gave her during her time there – she loved you all.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, a Memorial Service will be held at a later time.  Interment is taking place in Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
