Cleveland - John Laughlin, age 90, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Windsor Medical Center in North Canton, Ohio.
He was born on April 1, 1933, in Columbiana, Ohio and was raised on the family farm there. He graduated from Columbiana High School in 1951 and Case Institute of Technology in 1955 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. During his years of employment, he worked for the Ohio Department of Highways, Dalton-Dalton, and the Ohio Turnpike Commission as a Civil Engineer. He lived his adult life in Cleveland, Ohio
John retired in 1993 and spent his summers at the family’s cottage in Temagami, Ontario. He enjoyed fishing, Ohio State University football, and was a Cleveland Guardians season ticket holder. He loved his pet cocker spaniels and owned several over the years.
He is survived by his five nieces and nephews; Bruce Laughlin, Connie Kammler, Jim Laughlin, Kay Krochta and Lou Ann Pridgen, as well as his special friends, the Felhazi family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Helen Wilson Laughlin and his brothers, Warren and Keith.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 10:30 am – 11:00 am, at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel, 347 E Park Columbiana, Ohio 44408.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 11:00 am, at the cemetery chapel, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
