Columbiana - Jack G. Wood passed away peacefully March 15, 2020.
Jack was born October 7, 1931 in Beaver Falls, PA, to the late Jacob Norman and Elizabeth (Grant) Wood.
He lived in Columbiana, Ohio for the past 42 years. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1949 and immediately began his career as an OTR truck driver. For fifteen years he drove truck for Chrome Deposit in Weirton, WV, prior to that time he drove a tanker truck for Industrial Waste in Fallston, PA. Jack continued his love of driving after retiring by working for local dealerships delivering cars. Jack was a devoted husband, loving Father and hands on grandfather. He was known for his keen sense of humor and was always the “go to” person for sage advice and common-sense counsel.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, JuleAnn (Madden) Wood; two daughters, Eileen (James) Grade and Lisa Wood; three sisters, Geraldine Thonen, Mary Alice Bernstein and Donna Laughlin; two grandchildren, Jack (Milena) Gruber and Krista Grade.
He is preceded in death by three siblings, brothers, Tom Wood, Sam Wood and sister, Norma Paxton.
Jack touched many lives and will be missed by all.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Hospice of the Valley who cared for Jack during his final days.
No services are being observed at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
