Columbiana, OH - Howard B. Davis, 72, of Columbiana, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Davis was born September 15, 1943 in Indiana, PA, a son of the late Howard B. and Jean Dugan Davis. He was a 1961 graduate of the Freedom Area High School, Freedom, PA and Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA with his degree in Human Resources. He had been employed as Personal Director at the former Salem Tool Company. He was the owner and operator of Twin Maples Boarding Home in Salem and also had worked at the Youngstown Developmental Center, Mineral Ridge.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown where he had served as a deacon, elder, clerk of session, and as a pastoral associate intern. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Salem and First Presbyterian Church, Freedom, PA. He was also a former member of the Elks Lodge, Salem.
Howard is survived by his wife, the former Juliann Cotters, whom he married July 21, 1967; a daughter, Valerie Lynn (Douglas) Weingart of Canfield; a son, Bryan Richard Davis of Austintown; five sisters Karen Shultz of Beaver Falls, PA, Susan (Carl) Emerick of New Brighton, PA Catherine Davis of Rochester, PA, Rebecca (Ronald) Miller of Beaver Falls, PA, and Peggy Sciaretta of Rochester, PA; three grandchildren, Melanie (Derek) Tenney, Nathan Weingart, and Justin Weingart; three great grandchildren, Colton, Ashton, and Hadley; a sister in law, Jeanne (Ron) Joan of Bellville, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 am on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, where Memorial Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. James Barton will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to The Special Olympics.
