Columbiana – Donald Edward Kacenski, Sr., 82, of Columbiana, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on February 2, 2018, at his home.
He was born, April 3, 1935 in Unity, son of the late Chester and Delvina Newcomer Kacenski.
Don served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Korea and Washington State. He was a proud 50+ year member of the Allen Lodge #276, Columbiana. He was a truck driver with Landmark Inc., Columbiana and J and J Trucking, East Palestine. Don enjoyed doing puzzles, working outside and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Kacenski of Columbiana, whom he married November 20, 1970; three sons, Kenneth Kacenski of Arizona, Scott (Debbie Shaw) Kacenski of New Waterford and Donald (Shelley) Kacenski, Jr. of Austintown; a brother, Harry (Pat) Kacenski of Columbiana; a sister, Delores Walsh of East Palestine and four grandchildren Aaron, Jonathon, Delaney and Kody Kacenski.
Don was preceded in death by a sister, Darla Burkey.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Mr. John Reed Minister officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Benjamin Firestone Post Honor Guard.
