Cassandra and Otto Gray Obituary

Cassandra “Cassie” Gray, 34, of Warren passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 with her son, Otto Gray, by her side.

She was born May 24, 1986 in Warren, the daughter of Cindy Nyako and the late William Barr.

Cassie was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Class of 2004.  She worked at Salvatore’s Italian Grill and Color3 Embroidery, but being a mom is what she was born to do.  She was the epitome of a mama bear.

She loved traveling, camping, nurturing plants, attending concerts, playing the ukulele, spending time with close family/friends, and beekeeping with her husband, Lee.  But her greatest passion of all was taking care of her two boys.

Cassie will be remembered for her loving, caring spirit. She truly radiated happiness. She was everyone’s best friend. With the busiest of schedules, she still managed to find time for each person in her life. She could take a dull or rough moment and polish it for you. She made you feel special. She made you feel loved. Of all the gifts she had, these were her greatest.

She is deeply missed by her loving husband, Lee Gray, whom she married October 2, 2016; their son, Simon Gray, and her mother, Cindy Nyako, who she loved dearly.  She leaves behind sisters; Erin Nash, Dawn Cobb, Heather Barr, Natasha (Matt) Natale, and Holly (Bob) Ward.  In addition, she will be missed by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pam & Gary Gray, sisters-in-law, Stephanie (Chris) Morrone; Megan (Justin) Grayham; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to her as Aunt Cass. Cassie also leaves behind many dear friends and her work family who she adored and loved.

Cassie was preceded in death by her father, William Barr, her step-father, Donald Nyako, maternal and paternal grandparents.

A private burial service was previously held. A memorial service for Cassie and Otto will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Otto Augustus William Gray, 5, of Warren, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 with his mother by his side. He was born June 18, 2015 in Warren, the son of Lee and Cassandra Gray.

Otto attended Children’s Rainbow Preschool but spent his last year of school with his favorite teacher, Mommy.

Otto loved learning about dinosaurs, cuddling and reading stories with his parents. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing outdoors, dancing, singing, drawing, exploring, and playing Roblox with his best friend, Simon.

Otto will be remembered for his unique, tender and warm-hearted personality. He was the sweetest, most empathetic little guy who loved everyone. Otto was so smart and observant; he could educate you for hours with his knowledge of animal facts. He could put a smile on anyone’s face with his outgoing nature and friendly conversation.

Otto is deeply missed by his loving father and brother, Lee and Simon Gray. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Cindy Nyako and paternal grandparents: Pam and Gary Gray. In addition, he leaves behind aunts, uncles and adoring cousins who always watched over him.

A private burial service was previously held. A memorial service for Cassie and Otto will be held at a later date.
