Columbiana - Brian Daniel Patrick, age 53, of Columbiana, died on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Salem Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses.
He was born on April 5, 1967 in Youngstown, son of Daniel and Emilia "Mickey" Czekanski Patrick.
Brian had owned and operated multiple businesses during his life, all of which he started from the ground up. A Graphic Production company, Spectra Graphics, which produced large-scale signs and graphics for local businesses and high-schools, a mobile billboard company, Spectra Motion, as well as a beloved local Kettle Corn business, Big Daddy B’s Kettle Corn. He served many years on the board for Columbiana Youth Baseball and was also a coach. Brian volunteered doing maintenance on all the baseball fields in town and also volunteered lining the Columbiana High School football field while his sons were in high school. He recently served on the tourism committee in Columbiana. He graduated from Ursuline High School in 1985 and received a degree in Photography and Multimedia from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Brian loved spending quality time with his family and friends and was often the easiest person to talk to in the room. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved watching his boys play sports through the years.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Madjarac Patrick, whom he married on November 2, 1991; his two sons, Garret Patrick of Brooklyn, NY and Spencer Patrick of Cuyahoga Falls; his mother, Emilia "Mickey" Czekanski Patrick of Youngstown; three sisters, Pamela (Ted) Smith of Youngstown, Tammy (Ron) Paone of Canton and Sheila (Ray) Miller of Austintown; two brothers, David (Vicky) Patrick of Youngstown and Craig (Shannon) Patrick of Austintown; two Sister in laws, Traci (John) Sneltzer of Salem and Diana (Kerry) Brown of Salem and his father in law and mother in law, Richard and Mary Madjarac of Salem.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Patrick.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be followed as we ask people to pass through the funeral home using face mask protocol.
A private family service will be held.
