Zella Mae Makowski

Columbiana August 1, 2008 Zella Mae Makowski, 90, of Columbiana, died at 5:23 p.m. Friday at the Essex of Salem II where she had been a patient the past month.

Mrs. Makowski was born March 6, 1918 in Negley, a daughter of Howard and Cora McCoy Huston and had lived in this area all of her life. She had been employed as a decorator at Kingwood China for 20 years, retiring in 1982. Prior to that, she had worked at the W. S. George Pottery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Makowski and two sisters, Mable Cope and Martha J. Huston.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Janice) Mohney of New Springfield and Mrs. David (Beverly Jean) Walker of Mansfield; a son, Ronald (Cindy) Dunn of Negley; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Pastor Douglas DeMar officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
