Columbiana - Wyman E. Longbottom, 84, formerly of Beverly Drive, died at 11:25 a.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. Longbottom was born June 2, 1927 in Marissa, IL, a son of the late Raymond C. and Junita Barton Longbottom and had lived in this area most of his life. He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. He had been employed as an assembler at NRM in Columbiana for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was also a master plumber.
He is survived by his wife, the former Martha G. Hively, whom he married June 18, 1954; a daughter, Michele Messner of North Lima; two sons, Jeffrey A. Longbottom and Jerome L. Longbottom, both of Columbiana; a sister, Juanita Longbottom of Columbiana; a grandson, Matthew Messner and a great granddaughter, Madison Messner.
A daughter, Lisa Longbottom and a sister, Rae Longbottom are deceased.
Friends may call at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Private burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery.
