Winifred "Winnie" Joyce Urbschat

Columbiana-Winifred Joyce Urbschat, age 87, of Columbiana, died at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Salem Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her children.

Winnie was born on May 15, 1927 in Columbiana to Clifford and Ruth Reese Esterly. Winnie had two siblings: John Esterly and Janet (Esterly) Blosser. Both preceded her in death.

Winnie graduated from Columbiana High School in 1944 as Valedictorian. She went on to Miami University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1948. During several summers, she worked at the Chautauqua Resort. Also while in college, she learned how to play bridgea
