Wilma Condon entered this world on November 15, 1950, a daughter of Paul Everett Smith and Dorothy Lee Wellman Smith. She was raised in North Lima and was a 1969 North Lima graduate. She graduated from nursing school in 1972 and worked at Salem Community Hospital, Columbiana County School nurse at Joshua Dixon School, Huttons in Salem, Ashley Place in Austintown and most recently at Parkside Health Care in Columbiana.

Wilma loved traveling, beaches, lighthouses, flea markets and garage sales. She was also an avid reader and loved cats. What she loved most was spending time with her cherished daughter, Maggie Fowler, her husband Jimm and their three children with paws and fur, Porthos, Cassandra and Sebastian.

Wilma was a member of Metro Assembly of God in Youngstown where she served as church liaison at the Pregnancy Care Center and enjoyed doing volunteer work. Prior to her long illness she also volunteered at the Salvation Army and at Heart Reach Ministries.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Baz and Maggie Wellman and Lyman and Laura Smith, her father, Paul Smith and a brother, Roger Smith.

She leaves behind her mother, Dorothy Smith of Columbiana, her beloved daughter, Maggie (Condon) and her husband Jimm Fowler of Wadsworth, one sister, Aimee Kesterke and her husband Monte of Youngstown, a brother, Brad Smith of Boardman and a treasured niece, Megan Smith of Boardman.

Wilma departed this earth on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 5:35 p.m. at Hospice House, Poland with her loving family at her side.

A celebration of Wilma's life will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Metro Assembly of God, 2530 South Ave. with Pastor Al Yanno, Jr. and Wilma's dear friend and one of her pastors, Joan Farley officiating. Friends and family may pay their respects from 10:30 a.m. until 12 Noon at the church on Saturday.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Wilma requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Metro Assembly of God or Hospice of the Valley.
