William V. White

Columbiana - February 22, 2008 - William V. White, 67, of 44262 Short Road, died at 11:20 p.m. Friday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mr. White was born November 26, 1940 in Shadyside, OH, a son of Lyle and Francis Campbell White and had lived in this area most of his life.

Bill was a graduate of Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in education. He then attained his Masters Degree at Kent State University.

He was a teacher of Industrial Arts, Drafting, and Metal Working at Columbiana High School and a professor of Wood Technology at Kent State University, Kent, retiring in 2000 after 31 years of teaching. He was also owner and operator of White Enterprises, Columbiana where he specialized in fine woodworking.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana, Toronto Lodge #221 R.A.M. and Friendship Lodge #89 F.& A.M. in Barnesville, OH.

He is survived by his companion, Marilyn Michalak of Columbiana; a niece and a nephew.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert White. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Juliann Joy officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Monday.
