New Waterford - December 11, 2005 - William F. Spooner, Jr., age 78, formerly of McCloskey Road, died at 3:20 p.m. Sunday at the St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center, Columbiana.
Mr. Spooner was born September 11, 1927 in East Palestine, a son of William F. and Nellie Henderson Spooner, Sr. and had lived in this area all of his life.
He had been employed as a sheet metal worker for 23 years at the former Firestone Electric, Salem.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Jugenheimer of Lisbon, Mrs. Phillip (Cheryl) Silliman of Columbiana, Mrs. Doyle (Mary Lou) Pahona of Tucson, AZ, Mrs. James (Joyce) Birch of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Patty Soules of Lisbon; six sons, Richard Spooner and Larry Spooner, both of Lisbon, Jeff Spooner of North Carolina, Roger Spooner of Salem, Jim Spooner of Lisbon, and Bruce Spooner of Marietta, OH; a brother, Russell Spooner of Englewood, FL; 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A sister, Helen Sargent and a brother, Donald Spooner are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Mr. Phillip Silliman officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rogers.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday where New Lisbon Lodge #65 F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic Services at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
