Columbiana January 1, 2006 -William Meredith McCurdy, age 73, of 333 West Salem Street died at 1:00 a.m. Sunday in his residence. He was born April 12, 1932, in Hammond IN, son of Alpha C. and Louise Meredith McCurdy.
He had lived in Columbiana for 6 years coming from Greenville PA. He had been a wire cutter for Packard Electric. He served with the Marines during the Korean War.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Maureen) Wilhelm of East Palestine; three sisters, June McElwain of Fredericksburg, VA, Mrs. Robert (Ann) Johnson of Ruther Glen, VA, Mrs. Bruce (Betty) Card of Vestavia, AL; a brother, Thomas McCurdy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert McCurdy and Richard McCurdy.
Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana with Mr. Mark Plegge officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Hermitage, PA. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
