William "Bill" Less

Salem- William "Bill" Less, age 68, of Salem, died on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at Briarfield at Ashley Circle, Austintown.

He was born on February 23, 1947 in Salem, a son of the late Francis and Jane Sauerwein Less.

Bill was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana and had worked as a plumber for 45 years, owning and operating Bill Less Plumbing. He was a member of the VFW in Washingtonville and both the American Legion and Eagles in Leetonia. He had a heart of gold and was always helping out his family and friends. Bill enjoyed driving his grandson Dylan to school and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

His wife, Nancy J. Hendricks Less, whom he married on August 26, 1967, preceded him in death on May 23, 2007.

He is survived by a daughter, Amy (Kevin) Shope of Canfield; two sons, Scott (Ruth) Less of Columbiana and Craig (Jeanne) Less of Greenford; three sisters, Susan (Bill) Phillips of Canfield, Ann (Keith) Bossard of Columbus and Lisa (John) Crider of Greenford; two brothers, Mike Less of Greenford and George (Penny) Less of Greenford; a sister-in-law, Elaine Less of Greenford; seven granddaughters, Anderson Shope, Marissa, Maranda, Madison, Logan, Ashlyn and Kayden Less and a grandson, Dylan Shope.

Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Less.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana, with the Reverend Christopher Cicero officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Leetonia.

Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 and one hour prior to the mass at the church on Thursday.
