William Howard Engberg, Sr

Cuyahoga Falls, OH - June 6, 2008 - William H. Engberg, Sr., 80, of 45 Chart Road, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday at Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, Akron.

Mr. Engberg was born October 9, 1927 in Mineral Ridge, the son of Clarence R. and Mary C. Corll Engberg and had lived in Akron for the past 1 A½ years coming from Columbiana.

He was machinist for the former Stamets Company in Columbiana for many years and had also worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana and served in the US Army during World War II.

His wife, the former Ida E. Ward, whom he married June 10, 1950, died July 12, 2006.

He is survived by his daughter, Alice (John) Schmitt of Munroe Falls, OH; his son, William (Connie) Engberg, Jr. of Woodhaven, MI; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Engberg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Ken Kelly of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.
