Willard D. Hetric

Columbiana-March 8, 2011-Willard D. Hetric, 97, of Columbiana, Ohio, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Parkside Health Care Center.

Mr. Hetric was born on March 2, 1914, in Columbiana. He was the son of the late Ira A. and Margaret M. McGale Hetric, and he lived most of his life in Columbiana.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Miller; his daughter, Amanda; his son, Deane; his daughter-in-law, Suzanne, nieces, Jo Ann Kale, Kathy Steele, Carol Thomas and Marty Metzler; and nephews, James Ellis, Tom Miller, William Steele and Dennis Hetric.

Mr. Hetric was the proprietor of a paint and wallpaper store in Columbiana before World War II, and he served in World War II from 1942 until 1945. After the war, he was well known in Columbiana as a sign painter, house painter, and interior decorator.

His wife, the late Ruth Vollnogle Hetric, died in 1968. His second wife, the late Helen Koch Hetric, died in 2002. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Steele and a brother, James Hetric.

Mr. Hetric was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Columbiana and the Allen Lodge #267 F.&A.M.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 10, from 7-9:00 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at the funeral home with Reverend Scott Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.
