Columbiana October 23, 2004 -Wilbur Edwin Morlan, age 75, of 1229 Columbiana-Lisbon Road died at 4:05 a.m. Saturday in the Salem Community Hospital, where he had been a patient for three days.

He was born March 30, 1929 in Lisbon, son of Frank and Mary Ida Pike Morlan and had lived in the area all of his life.

Mr. Morlan was a member of Carpenter Local 171, in Youngstown for 55 years, working as a carpenter and Construction Superintendent, retiring in 1991.

He graduated from David Anderson High School 1947; was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbiana, served as deacon and then Elder for 34 years. He was also chairman of the Church Board and the Building Committee. He was also chairman of Mission Committee for 40 years. He was the teacher of the Loyal Men's and Women's Bible Class and took part in the church's annual Christmas 'Walk-Thru'.

Mr. Morlan was an avid RC Model Airplane enthusiast having been a member of the Mahoning County Model Club, the Centaur Club at East Liverpool and R.C. World Club at Orlando FL.

Be side his wife, the former Mary Jane Garrett, whom he married January 9, 1949, he is survived by his mother, Mary I. Donbar of Columbiana; a daughter, Mrs. Patrick (Teresa) Camp of Fisher, IL; a son, John Morlan of Greenville, SC; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church of Columbiana where his body will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Clarence Mansfield and Len Derico, ministers, officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Carmel Cemetery.

Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday at Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home.
