East Palestine, OH-December 7, 2009-Wilbert L. "Webb" Campbell, 66, of East Palestine, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday at Salem Community Hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Campbell was born October 31, 1943 in Beaver Falls, PA, a son of Forest and Mildred Black Campbell and had lived in the area most of his life.

Webb was a steel worker for Jones and Laughlin Steel Company and the Midland Terminal Company for many years retiring in 2005. He attended Negley United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a life member of the Edward L. McGuckin Post #4579 VFW, East Palestine. He was also a member of the Midland American Legion Post #481, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #467, East Palestine, the Negley Volunteer Fire Department and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, the former Judith "Judy" Green, whom he married December 7, 1968; a daughter, Beth (Frank) Palocyi of Boardman; a son, Wilbert "Burt" Campbell of East Palestine; four sisters, Dolores Campbell and Evelyn (John) Gishbaugher both of Darlington, PA, Judy (Guy) Bishop of New Waterford, Darla (Marshall) Rogers of Rogers; five brothers, Charles (Marcia) Campbell of Crossville, TN, William (Dolores) Campbell of Georgetown, PA, Gary (Eva) Campbell of Rogers, Paul (Jayme) Campbell of Dillsburg, PA, Thomas (Donna) Campbell of Beaver Falls, PA; three sisters in law, Patricia Green and Barbara Gallimore both of East Liverpool and Joyce Green of Lisbon; and two grandchildren, Erica Palocyi and Cameron Campbell.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister and a brother, Donald Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Reverend Dennis Devorick officiating. The combined honor guard group from the VFW #4579 and the American Legion Post #31 will accord military honors. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
