Wayne Robert Mccamon

Columbiana-Wayne Robert McCamon, 88, died at 3:14 am Sunday at Salem Community Hospital.

Mr. McCamon was born September 20, 1924, a son of Edgar and Daisa Morris McCamon, and had lived in this area all of his life.

Wayne spent his childhood at their Willowbrook Farm in Columbiana working on the dairy farm to adulthood.

On December 8, 1946 Wayne married Leila Mae Reesh at Jerusalem Lutheran Church where they are currently members.

Wayne served in the US Army in Italy during World War II. He then returned home and worked at Kaiser Refractory.

Later he was the operator for the Columbiana Water Plant.

He is survived by his wife, Leila; his daughter, Laurie (Bill) Wilms of Columbiana; two sons, Alan (Dinah) McCamon of Columbiana and Kevin McCamon of Leetonia; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister Lenore McCamon and a brother, Myron McCamon.

Private funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Sean Myers officiating. Burial followed in Columbiana Cemetery.
