Columbiana - September 22, 2008 - Waunetta "Nita" Irene Hogue, 87, of 44728 Columbiana-Waterford Road went to be with the Lord at 4:15 a.m. Monday at the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
Mrs. Hogue was born May 9, 1921 in Wadsworth, OH a daughter of Clarence Paul and Ella Mae Barnhart Roshon and had lived in Columbiana since 1967, coming from New Waterford.
She had been a cashier for the former Crook's I.G.A. Store for 23 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine and participated in Friendship Sunday School Classes at the church.
Her husband, Samuel Hogue, whom she married September 14, 1938, preceded her in death on February 9, 1985.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Charles) Spears of New Waterford, Patricia (Samuel) Nelson of Columbiana, Kathy (Phil) Hooker of Tonopah, AZ and Marcia (Gene) Carr of Canfield; a son, James (Kay) Hogue of Columbiana; two sisters, Bonnie Pflugh and Evelyn Faulk both of East Palestine; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
A son, Larry Hogue; a brother, Robert Roshon; and two sisters, Viola Glossen and Dorothy Totalaka also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Mr. Robert Helbeck, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
