Washingtonville - Walter F. Savage, 62, of Washingtonville, died at 5:57 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.
Mr. Savage was born December 2, 1950 in Salem, a son of the late Ellsworth "Buck" and Mary Eleanor Davis Savage and had lived in the area all of his life. He had been employed as a machinist at the Crane Deming Company, Salem. He had also served as chief of the former Washingtonville Volunteer Fire Department and had served on Washingtonville Village Council.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carrie E. Stewart; a daughter, Laura M. Savage of Fairview Park, OH; two sons, W. Scott Savage of Leetonia and David K. Savage of Denver, CO; a sister, Mary E. Waggle of Columbiana; a brother, John Savage of Austintown; and two grandchildren.
Two brothers, Ted and Terry Savage are also deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with Mr. Nelson Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the services on Monday.
