Walter Eugene Rutzky

Leetonia – Walter Eugene Rutzky, 78, died at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Essex of Salem III.

Mr. Rutzky was born January 27, 1937 in Salem, a son of the late Ernest E. and Elizabeth A. Sanders Rutzky and had lived in this area all of his life.

He had served as corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Walt worked as an inspector for 42 years at Kaiser Refractories, Columbiana and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Leetonia.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former, Clorinda Mary Mancuso whom he married June 12, 1965; and two brothers, Richard Rutzky of Columbiana and Robert Rutzky of Oakridge, TN.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernie Rutzky, Gerald Rutzky and Thomas C. Rutzky, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Reverend Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Leetonia where military honors will be accorded by the Salem Honor Guard.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
