Walter F. Davis

East Palestine-January 1, 2011-Walter F. Davis, 45, of East Palestine, died suddenly Saturday at Salem Community Hospital after becoming ill at home.

Mr. Davis was born July 13, 1965 in Salem, a son of Valley and Emogene Knight Davis and had lived in this area all of his life.

Walter was a truck driver for R & J Trucking in Boardman and had also worked for Worthington Custom Plastic in Salem. He was a member of the East Palestine Sportsman's Club and loved hunting.

Besides his mother and step father, Emogene and Ron Logan of Toronto, he is survived by his wife, the former Kathy L. Sheerer, whom he married March 5, 2005; a son, Samuel W. Davis at home; a sister, Tammy L. (Rick) Davis Rosenbaum of New Waterford and a brother, James Valley Davis of Unity.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Jeff Schoch officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
