Colorado Springs, CO - October 6, 2004 - W. Richard Caldwell, age 83, of Colorado Springs, formerly of the Columbiana-Leetonia area, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004 in Colorado Springs.
Mr. Caldwell was born June 26, 1921 in Leetonia, OH, a son of the late Walter J. and Clauda Chellis Caldwell and had lived in the Columbiana-Leetonia area most of his life, moving to Colorado in 2002.
He had served in the US Marines during WW II in the Pacific Theater. He had been employed as a welder and estimator at NRM Company in Columbiana for several years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia.
He is survived by his wife, the former Verla E. Holloway, whom he married April 19, 1946; two daughters, Jayne (Dr. Ernest) Goetz of Bryan, TX and June E. Caldwell of Colorado Springs, CO; one son, Richard (Sue) Caldwell of Chicago, IL; a sister, Eunice Carnes of McDonough, GA; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Friday.
