Rogers, OH - April 1, 2005 - Wallace R. "Wally" Eiler, age 82, of 46369 Grant Street died at 3:20 p.m. Friday at East Liverpool City Hospital.
Mr. Eiler was born December 5, 1922 in New Brighton, PA, a son of Charles and Mary Meyers Eiler and had lived here since 1989 coming from Tempe, Arizona.
He had been an equipment operator for Marathon Steel in Arizona for 24 years retiring in 1984. He served in the US Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #467 in East Palestine.
He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley McBrien, whom he married December 19, 1952; a son, Kevin Eiler of Rogers; a sister, Mrs. Clara May Winters of Beaver, PA; a brother, William Eiler of Calcutta, OH; four grandchildren, Kevin, Brendan, Kasey and Brittany Eiler and a great grandson, Seth; and his loyal canine companion, Banjo.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Jesse Albutini, Mary Lowry and Gleneora Trowbridge and four brothers, Walter, Robert, John and Charles Eiler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH with Pastor David Rose of the Rogers Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
