Columbiana - Vivian L. Oehrle, 91, of South Main Street, formerly of Leetonia, died at 4:44 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Hospice House, Poland.

Mrs. Oehrle was born April 18, 1920 in North Lima, a daughter of the late Monroe Cecil and Fredia Marie Smith Paulin and had lived at Harmony Village in Columbiana since 1997, coming from Leetonia, where she had lived 37 years.

She had been employed as a payroll clerk and bookkeeper for the former Tenco, Inc. in Leetonia for 5 years, retiring in 1982. She had also worked for Campbell Cleaners in Leetonia. Vivian was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia where she was a member of the Joyful Ringers Hand Bell Choir for 22 years. She also was a member of the Altar Guild and the Cornerstones of the church. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary #131 of Leetonia, Columbiana County Salon #432 of the 8 & 40, the Columbiana County RSVP, and the Columbiana Senior Citizens. She enjoyed knitting and cooking for her family, as well as playing games and taking walks in the woods with her great grandchildren.

Her first husband, Donald Indermill, whom she married in 1939 died in 1958. Her second husband, Donald B. Oehrle, whom she married May 20, 1960 died January 29, 1996.

She is survived by a son, Larry (Margaret) Indermill of Monrovia, CA; five granddaughters, Lori (John) Gatt of Pomona, CA, Diane (Edson) Cienfuegos of Montclair, CA, Sarah Indermill of Monrovia, CA, Jennifer Wiley of Bergholz, OH, and Julie (Mark) Hannaford of North Benton, OH; six great grandchildren, Kyle and Rachel Hannaford, Garrett and Emily Wiley, and Kaitlyn and Aiden Gatt; special nieces, Shirley (Heinz) Tunnat, Jacci Bragg, Cindy (Joe) Csonka and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Baylin.

Vivian had a special "extended" family that survived her as well; Paul and Fredda Work of Columbiana and their four children, Bradley, Brandon, Jared and Taryn.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Indermill in 1978; four brothers, Earl, William, Cecil, and Eugene Paulin; and two sisters, Virginia Powell and Doris Paulin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia. Friends may call from Noon -1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
