Virginia Rose Wenderoth

Columbiana - Virginia Rose Wenderoth, 90, of Columbiana, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Virginia was born October 7, 1923 in East Palestine, the daughter of the late Cyrus and Rosa Reynolds Knight and had lived in the area all of her life.

She had been employed as a school bus driver for Columbiana Schools and Beaver Local as well as holding many other jobs. She was best at being "a mother".

Her husband, Richard C. Wenderoth, whom she married July 20, 1968 died on December 23, 1999.

She is survived by five daughters, Barbara (Ronald) Westover of Lisbon, Carla (Robert) Roberts of Chino Valley, AZ, Deborah (Mark) DeRosia of Delano, CA, Kathy (Mick) Kowalsky of Lisbon and Candy (John) Heintzelman of Columbiana; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rachel Doll, Anna Mae Hunter and Alice Welsh and six brothers, Joseph, Roy, Albert, Cyrus, Charles and James Knight.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Reverend Dr. Stephen Cramer officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
