Leetonia, January 17, 2004, Virginia M. Ginther, age 88, of 114 Lisbon Street, died at 1:52 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Community Hospital following a short illness.
Mrs. Ginther was born May 10, 1915 in East Lewistown, Ohio, a daughter of William P. and Mary Lesher Harrold and had lived in this area all of her life.
She was a homemaker and also had been a seamstress at Avie Beck's Bridal Shop in Salem. She had also worked at the Leetonia Post Office several years ago.
She was a member of the Greenford Christian Church and had been a volunteer at the Leetonia Schools and the Salem Community Hospital. Her husband, Harry C. Ginther, whom she married September 7, 1935 died October 26, 1977.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Marilyn) Heddleson of Leetonia and Ms. Marianne Gingrich of Marietta, GA; a son, Jon Ginther of Ocean Pines, MD; a sister, Mrs. Janet Gray of Salem; five grandsons, and two great grandchildren.
A daughter, Marianna Ginther, a son, James Ginther, and a brother, Donald Harrold are also deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with Mr. Jeff Hugus, Minister of the Greenford Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
