Lisbon - March 27, 2008 - Virgie G. Walsh, 97, of Allay Senior Care, died Thursday at the Salem Community Hospital.
Mrs. Walsh was born May 21, 1910 in Czechoslovakia, a daughter of Paul and Mary Piscar Gyugo and had lived on Walnut Street, Point Marion, PA most of her life, moving to this area five years ago. She had also lived at Heritage Point, Morgantown, WV for a short time. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Hubert Roman Catholic Church, Point Marion and the Rosary Altar/Christian Mothers Society of the church.
Her husband, Stanley Walsh, whom she married May 18, 1940 died September 11, 2003.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary C.) Eskay of Leetonia; Mrs. Charles (Ann M.) Dzik of Grafton, WV; a grandson, Mark Eskay of Columbus, OH; two step grandchildren, John (Terry) Dzik of Delaware and Susan (Bill) Barrish of Delaware; and six great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Roos and four brothers, Michael, Paul, James and George Gyugo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Hubert Roman Catholic Church, Point Marion with the Reverend Andrew M. Kawecki officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
Friends may call at the Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home, Point Marion, PA from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:30 a.m - 10:30 a.m. Monday, where a prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Allay Senior Care, 131 Pendleton Street, Lisbon, OH 44432.
Local arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
