East Palestine, OH-February 23, 2006-Viola M. Glossen, age 91, formerly of E. Martin Street died at 8:15 a.m. Thursday at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana.

Mrs. Glossen was born May 5, 1914 in Wadsworth, OH a daughter of Paul C. and Ella May Barnhart Roshon and had lived in this area all of her life.

At one time she was a waxer in the dipping room of Kingwood China. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine.

Her husband, Edward J. Glossen, whom she married May 3, 1930 died September 18, 1993.

She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Walter (Evelyn) McClish of Rogers and Gloria J. Ray of East Palestine; three sisters, Waunetta Hogue of Columbiana and Bonnie Pflugh and Evelyn Faulk of East Palestine; six grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donald E. Glossen, a sister, Dorothy Tokalaku, a brother, Robert A. Roshon and a granddaughter, Mary Rock.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home with Mr. Robert Helbeck, minister of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
