Columbiana - June 15, 2008 - Tyler Ross Unkefer, 20, of 1864 Lower Elkton Road, died Sunday.

Tyler was born December 8, 1987 in Salem, a son of Lee J. and Julie A. Bradford Unkefer and had lived in this area most of his life. He was employed as a laborer at Columbiana Foundry. He had attended East Palestine Schools and enjoyed the outdoors and especially fishing.

He is survived by his father, Lee Unkefer of Columbiana; his mother and step father, Julie and Edward "Earl" Hicks of Pietown, New Mexico; a daughter, Kristin M. Baker of New York; a sister, Brittany Unkefer of Columbiana; his maternal step grandfather, David Zabel of Pietown, New Mexico; his paternal grandparents, W. Glen and Jane Unkefer of Columbiana; and his paternal step great grandmother, Jeanette Unkefer of Alliance.

Tyler was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sandra Zabel and his maternal great grandmother, Jeanne "Nana" Bond.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Roy Seaux, Minister officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Memorial Cemetery, Unity Township. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been established for the benefit of Tyler's daughter, Kristin Baker, at any branch of the Farmers National Bank.
