Twila K. Dermotta

Washingtonville - January 29, 2005 - Twila K. Dermotta, 80, formerly of Washingtonville, died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday at Essex Nursing Center II of Salem where she resided the past six months.

Mrs. Dermotta was born April 22, 1924 in Washingtonville, a daughter of Iris Grindle and had lived in this area all of her life. She had been employed as a secretary at WM Inc. in Washingtonville for 23 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary of Leetonia, the Disable American Vets Auxiliary and the Leetonia Eagles Auxiliary.

Her husband, Henry Dermotta, whom she married October 17, 1942 died October 6, 1982.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Lyn Holloway of Salisbury, MD and Leanna K. Bell of Washingtonville; a son, Randy E. Dermotta of Austintown; a sister, Shirley Arntz of Canton, OH; a brother, James DeJane of Salem; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude for the loving care their mother received and the support the staff gave the family while at Essex II.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in Washingtonville Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia. Material tributes may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
