Trevor M. Rummel, 72 of Leetonia passed away at home on Monday surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
Trevor is survived by his wife of 51 years Tabetha Strang, his daughter Maggie of Beloit, his son Tanner (Elisa) of Leetonia, his brother Scott (Victoria) of Elyria and his beloved pugs Katie, Bob, and Bernadette. He is preceded in death by both parents Clarence and Ruth Culp Rummel.
Trevor retired from the Columbiana Boiler Company in 2018, where he worked as an Executive Vice President and Mechanical Engineer for 39 years. He was a subject matter expert in DOT and ASME Pressure Vessel regulations. During his years with the Columbiana Boiler Company, he traveled to many interesting countries including China, England, Germany, and the Netherlands to name a few.
Trevor earned his Eagle Scout as a teenager and was active in scouting while his son was growing up. He was also an active volunteer in 4-H while both his daughter and son took equestrian and steer projects in their youth.
Trevor was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, boating, hunting, fishing, and outdoor dutch-oven cooking. Trevor and his wife also enjoyed taking trips on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle, with their farthest trip being out to Montana and back.
Woodworking was a lifelong hobby and over his lifetime had created some beautiful pieces of furniture, grandfather clocks, cabinetry, and more recently custom cutlery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the nurses and staff from Hospice of the Valley, who lovingly took care of Trevor during his last weeks of life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Trevor can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
