Thomas C. Rutzky, Sr

Columbiana - February 14, 2010 - Thomas C. Rutzky, Sr., 71, of 60 Beechwood Drive, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth's Boardman Health Center.

Mr. Rutzky was born December 30, 1938 in Salem, a son of the late Ernest E. and Elizabeth A. Sanders Rutzky and had lived in this area all of his life.

He was a salesman for the former Tri-W Lumber, Leetonia and prior to that had worked at Equitable Life, Salem as a Sales Manager. Tom served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Rutzky, Jr. of Salem and Jeffrey Scott Rutzky of Mt. Arlington, NJ; three brothers, Richard Rutzky of Columbiana, Robert Rutzky of Oakridge, TN and Walt Rutzky of Leetonia; and two grandchildren, Jason Diver and Cal Rutzky.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernie and Gerald Rutzky.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Paula Archdeacon officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the combined group from the Salem Amvets and Salem VFW. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
