COLUMBIANA - Thomas Lawrence Neiheisel, 82 of Columbiana, formerly of Leetonia died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, June 1st, 2017 at the Mercy Health - St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

He was born on February, 19th, 1935 in Lisbon, Ohio, a son of the late Henry H. "Pete" Neiheisel and Helen (Ketchum) Neiheisel and had lived in this area all of his life.

He had helped as a cylinder hydrotester at his son's business, Youngstown Oxygen for 28 years. Prior to this, he had worked at the former Kaiser Refractories in Columbiana, and owned and operated Neiheisel Sand and Gravel in Leetonia. His hobbies were work related as he thrived on staying busy, working as much as he could up to his death. He greatly enjoyed the comradery of working with others.

He and his wife Sally enjoyed traveling over the years and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, the former Sally A. Peppel, who he married on August 9th, 1951; three daughters, Pamela (Joseph) Yuhanick of Columbiana, Cheryl Brothers of Columbiana, Connie Bowen of North Carolina; four sons, Edward (JoAnn) Neiheisel of Canfield, Peter (Jane) Neiheisel of Leetonia, Steve (Autumn) Neiheisel of Columbiana and Toby (Kerri) Neiheisel of Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Margaret "Peggy" Yuhanick; daughter-in-law Marilyn (Hawkins) Neiheisel; sister, Doris and brothers, John and Harry.

His quick smile and positivity in all circumstances will be greatly missed by his family and friends, as well as his strong work ethic that he passed onto his children and grandchildren, some of which who operate businesses in the community.

Private family services were held on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Father Robert Edwards officiating. Burial followed in Grandview Cemetery, Salem.
