Columbiana September 11, 2006 -Thomas David Mercure, age 68, of 360 Edgewood Drive died suddenly Monday in Largo Florida.
He was born June 26, 1938 in Campbell, son of Michael and Margaret Langley Mercure.
He had lived in Columbiana for 44 years coming from Campbell.
Thomas and his brother Mike had owned and operated the former Midway Motors and M&T Trucking for many years and for the last few years he owned and operated AJ Trucking at Columbiana.
He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Columbiana, was a member and past president of Tri-State Antique Car Club and was also a member of the Youngstown Model T Club.
He served the Navy for a short time and transferred to the Marines, serving four years in the late 50's as a helicopter engine mechanic.
Surviving him are his wife, the former Arlene Jean Candel whom he married September 24, 1962; two sons, Thomas David (Charlene) Mercure, Jr. of North Lima and Danny Edward Mercure of Columbiana; a sister, Mrs. David (Betty) Bokesch of Austintown; a brother, Michael Mercure of Columbiana; and two granddaughters, Macee and Lainey Mecure of North Lima.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with the Pastor Jan Winnale and Pastor Gary Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
