Columbiana - May 1, 2007 - Theron E. Lamoncha, 89, of 1641 Columbiana-Lisbon Road, died Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. at Essex II of Salem.
Mr. Lamoncha was born November 10, 1917 in Alliance, a son of Joseph K. and Margaret Shearer Lamoncha and had lived in this area all of his life.
After serving in WW II in the Army Air Corps, he worked for the Deming Company in Salem before founding Theron's Country Store in 1951. He operated the flea market and go cart track until his retirement in 2000 and assisted his wife, Juanita, who owned and operated the former Hutton Nursing Home in Salem.
He was a member of Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion, TriCounty 4Wheel Drive Club, and the IGA Grocery Association.
He was preceded in death on March 8, 1997 by his wife, the former Juanita Albright Hutton, whom he married April 9, 1970; a step son, Gary Hutton, a sister, Donna Mae Coppersmith; and a brother, Russell Lamoncha.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Linda) Ward and Mrs. David (JoAnn) Morris, both of Leetonia and Mrs. Barbara Raneri of Safety Harbor, FL; a step daughter, Mrs. Bud (Beverly) Sills of Columbus; a stepson, Robert (Darlene) Hutton of Salem; a brother, Robert Lamoncha of Lisbon; 11 grandchildren, Jody (Jamie) Ward, Stephanie Raneri, Lisa Morris, Rob (Deri) Hutton, Dee (Jeff) Hoffman, Melinda Hutton, Tonya (Dave) Petrucci, Terry Beall, Gary Hutton, Jr., Brian (Kim) Hutton, and Melissa (Josh) Lowry; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2007 at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Douglas DeMar officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Salem. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
