Theresa Allison

Washingtonville – Theresa Allison, 84, formerly of Washingtonville, passed away Thursday evening, December 15, 2016 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salem.

Mrs. Allison was born June 14, 1932 in Leetonia, a daughter of the late Ralph and Eleanor O’Dell Sposetta and had lived in the area all of her life.

Theresa was an avid cook and worked for the former Freedies Lounge in Washingtonville and also catered for many years.

She served on the Washingtonville Village Council for several years and was also served with the Columbiana County Board of Elections. Theresa was a member and past president of the York Drexler Post #5532 VFW Auxiliary and a VFW District past president.

Her husband, George Allison, whom she married May 28, 1966, died May 20, 1991.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen (John) Shaw of Greenford, Sandra (Dave) Lesick of Tampa, FL and Dianne (John) Hughes of Salem; a sister, Mary Anne (Jonathan) Harnden of Melbourne, FL, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Mellott and two brothers, John and Ralph Sposetta, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Mr. Bing Newton officiating. Burial will be in Washingtonville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home where the VFW Auxiliary will have a service at 12:45 pm.
