East Palestine, OH –Terri Lynn (Soldo) Ward, 66, passed away, Friday, October 18, 2024 from ALS.
Terri was born, June 3, 1958 in Salem, a daughter of Patrick P. and Verna M. (Weaver) Soldo and had been a life-long resident of East Palestine. A 1976 graduate of East Palestine High School, she started working as a legal secretary as a COE student until graduation, after which she was employed by the former Herriott Trucking Company. She had worked as an office manager in the manufacturing field before having a daughter and becoming a stay-at-home mother until her daughter was of school age. She enjoyed volunteering and later worked in the EP schools and the EP Memorial Public Library. She retired in 2020 after 27 years working for Roger Linsley in the funeral and cemetery industry. Her greatest position held was “grammie” and babysitting her granddaughter and grandson.
Terri was a member Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, served as treasurer for Unity Grange #1761 and a member of Pamona County Grange. She enjoyed crocheting baby hats for the newborns at the hospital.
Terri leaves her husband and best friend, Chester “Checker” Ward with whom she has spent over twenty-five years; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Jerett Wertz of Columbiana; her beautiful granddaughter, Aubriella Mae Wertz and handsome grandson, Easton William Wertz. Also surviving is her brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Claudia Soldo of Petersburg, along with her niece, Emilee, and nephews Bryan and Matt; a sister, Sandy Blakely of Girard, and niece, Tammy, and nephews, Tony and Tommy; and she also leaves grandchildren, Clayton, Colton, and Callahan of Columbiana.
Besides her parents, Terri was preceded in death by a brother, James Soldo.
