Teresa Lyska

Columbiana - Teresa Lyska, age 85, of Columbiana, died on Sunday, February 28, 2016 in Dublin, OH.

She was born on October 24, 1930, in Carnegie, PA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Canavan Hart.

Teresa was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana and had worked as an underwriter for Travelers Insurance Co. for twenty nine years. She was active in her church and was a member of both the Jude’s Dudes and the Women’s Guild.

She loved traveling and treasured the trips she took to Ireland, the homeland of her parents, to visit with her cousins. Teresa’s life was filled with wonderful friendships that often started in childhood and continued throughout her adult life. She was a long time lover of animals, especially the Black Labs, she shared with her husband. Holidays meant family for Teresa and she cherished those special times.

Her husband, Edwin Lucian Lyska, whom she married on October 1, 1976, preceded her in death on October 8, 1998. Teresa was also preceded in death by her sister, Anna Marie Schalitz Reichelderfer and her niece, Vicki Reichelderfer.

She is survived by two nieces, Suzanne Harte of San Jose, CA and Carole Lombard-Hughes of Corda Madera, CA; two nephews, Thomas (Debbie) Reichelderfer of Dublin, OH and Stanley P. Rutkowski Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; a great niece and great nephew; and many great great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Thomas Ziegler officiating.

Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Moon, PA.
