Columbiana - November 22, 2008 - Ted A. Brookhart, 50, 458 Parkview Drive, died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Brookhart was born October 29, 1958 in Celina, OH, a son of Marion L. and Irene Bomholt Brookhart and had lived here since 1971, coming from Celina.

He was a 1977 graduate of Columbiana High School where he was on the track team and the basketball team. He was a member of the 2 mile relay team that was state runner up in 1977 and was inducted into the Columbiana High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006. He had been assistant coach for the Leetonia Boys Basketball Team for 3 years and then was assistant coach for both the Columbiana Boys and Girls Basketball Teams for 6 years. Ted dedicated time to young athletes in track and basketball for many years.

He had been a member of the First United Methodist Church and was treasurer of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 290, of Columbiana. He had been employed 20 years at Photogenic Machine in Boardman as sales and service manager. While employed there, he was involved in the lighting for President Clinton's inauguration. He also worked with Kodak for the United Nations Anniversary Celebration. He was then a sales rep for Albums Inc. and for the last two years was employed as maintenance manager at Whispering Pines Village in Columbiana.

Ted is survived by his mother, Irene Brookhart of Columbiana; two sisters, Lori (Bill) Bailey and Julie (Wayne) Kinard, both of Columbiana; two brothers, Gary (Barb) Brookhart of Aurora, OH and Ron (Paulette) Brookhart of West Chester, OH; nine nieces and nephews, Brooke Hitchcock, Jenna Bailey, Eric Bailey, Ryan Kinard, Drew Kinard, Carey Brookhart, Brian Brookhart, Andrea Brookhart, and Kellie Brookhart; four great nieces; his aunt and uncle, Wayne & Melanie Stolz of Atlanta, GA; and a special friend, Mary Waggle of Columbiana.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with the Reverend Charles Ready officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
