Listen to Obituary

Sydney Ann Hardenbrook, born on June 19, 1935, in Flint, MI, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025.

She was the beloved daughter of Sidney and Alice Smith, who preceded her in death, along with her sons, Michael and Matthew Hardenbrook. She is survived by her children, Clinton (Diane) Hardenbrook of Columbiana and Mary (Robert) Justice of Salem. She also leaves behind 12 cherished grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Karen Healy and Sandra DeCorte.

Sydney was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan who found joy in cheering for her team, bowling, and being an active member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She loved to dance and was known for her infectious laughter and zest for life. A talented professional gift wrapper, she took pride in making every present special and beautifully adorned.

Above all, Sydney loved her family with her whole heart and remained deeply involved in their lives. She always signed her cards to family with the heartfelt words, “With all of my love,” a sentiment that truly reflected how she lived. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.

Sydney will be laid to rest in Flint, Michigan, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
