Columbiana, December 24, 2004 - Stephen J. Sirovica, 82, formerly of Court Street, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday in Parkside Health Care Center, where he had been a patient for 4 days.

He was born June 30, 1922 in Wellsville, son of John and Margaret Bozic Sirovica. He lived in Columbiana the last 40 years, coming from Wellsville.

Mr. Sirovica had worked in the Axel Mill at Crucible Steel for 32 years.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville and attended Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana.

Mr. Sirovica served in the army during WW II. He was former member of Clipper Arie #2415 FOE, the Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion and the York Drexler Post #5532 VFW. He was a regular attendee at SNPJ dances and walked regularly at the Southern Park Mall.

His wife Dorothy Shafernocker Douglas whom he married November 30, 1964 preceded him in death on August 21, 2001. He is survived by three step-sons,

Robert (Sue) Douglas and Alan (Marjorie) Douglas, both of Columbiana and Larry (Noreen) Douglas of Pleasant Hill CA; two sisters, Laura Krasevatz of Industry PA and Violet Stepien of East Liverpool, a half brother, John Banko of New Orleans LA; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, great & great-great nieces and nephews.

The Rev. W. David H. Conrad of Jerusalem Lutheran Church will officiate at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, where friends may call 6-8 Monday.

Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.
