Stella "Penny" Yanick

Warren - Stella "Penny" Yanick, age 79, of Warren, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Hospice House in Poland.

She was born on January 16, 1945, a daughter of the late John and Stella Clark Yanick.

Penny had worked as an administrative assistant for many years for both Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medical Mutual before retiring.  After retiring, she kept busy by working at Walmart on Elm Rd. for over twenty years.  Penny was a gentle soul who loved gardening and caring for animals.  She will best be remembered as a born caregiver with a compassionate soul and a heart of gold.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Loretta Yanick, several beloved nieces and nephews, and by her neighborhood family that all looked out for each other.

Penny was preceded in death by the love of her life, Thomas John Steinmetz on March 11, 2022.  She was also preceded by her five siblings, Charles, Jean, Robert, Gladys and John.

Per her wishes, no services will be held.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
